Christabel Braganza-Smith
Principal and Founder of CBS Legal & Co.
Christabel graduated from Murdoch University with a Bachelor of Arts (Psychology) in 1999. She then continued her studies at the University of Western Australia in 2000, where she attained a Bachelor of Social Work.
Christabel commenced her Social Work career at the Department of Justice as a Community Corrections Officer. She then ventured overseas, to the United Kingdom, where she worked in London as a Probation Officer. Christabel also worked in various child protection roles, including fostering and adoption.
Upon returning to Perth, Christabel took up a position with the Department of Communities as a Senior Child Protection Worker. Having regard to her social work roots, Christabel wanted to take her career to the next level and commenced studying law in 2015. She graduated with a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Notre Dame and gained a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice.
These experiences have driven Christabel’s passion towards Criminal Law and Care and Protection.
Since graduating, Christabel has worked in boutique law firms, including a Community Legal Centre, gaining valuable insights and skills in various areas of law.
With firsthand experience in Community Corrections and Child Protection, Christabel offers not just legal representation but insight-driven support grounded in the realities of these systems.

We will achieve our mission by laying a solid foundation, taking the time to build a practice that runs smoothly from the ground up.
